What is GullyBuy?


GullyBuy is an online marketplace that allows users to buy daily necessities directly from local stores. Buyers (consumers) can download the ‘GullyBuy’ mobile app on Android and iPhone from their respective app stores. Stores too get a mobile app called ‘GullyBuy for Vendors’ which is available only for Android mobile phones. Consumers can order items, track status, ask for delivery or pickup, and pay by cash or online by UPI.




Why should I make purchases using the GullyBuy app?


GullyBuy is a simple and convenient app to buy daily necessities online at any convenient time from your home/office or during commute and for any destination address. The process is similar to how you shop today, except that it is via the app. Pick your favourite store, order items using the catalog (if provided by the store) and/or enter your list in free text, and place the order. You can ask for delivery by the store or opt for a pickup in case that’s more convenient (or in case the store does not support delivery). Payment can be made by cash or online using UPI apps after the items are delivered or picked up. There are a lot more capabilities that you can explore in the app.




Who can sell on GullyBuy?


Most categories of retailers, be it shops or home businesses, can become a seller on our platform by downloading the ‘GullyBuy for Vendors’ app on your Android phone.




How to become a seller on GullyBuy?


Simply download the ‘GullyBuy for Vendors’ app from Google Play Store. This app is available only for Android mobile phones. Do not download the app called ‘GullyBuy’ (without the ‘for Vendor’) since that app is for your customers.




Which areas is GullyBuy available?


GullyBuy has large number of stores active in select areas of Pune and Mumbai. However, the app is designed to be self-service and enables sellers to take the lead in their location. As noted in an earlier response, sellers can encourage customers to download and use GullyBuy to order online from you. Also request them to inform their neighbours and friends. You can also recommend our app to other stores in your area. Collectively, by having large number of stores and users in an area online, all stores will be able to get new customers and increase sales, while your buyers get the benefit and convenience of online shopping.




How do I place an order in the GullyBuy app?


Buyers typically make a list of items to order and call the store or send someone with the list. The app works the same way – you enter your list in free text in the GullyBuy app and place the order. If the store maintains a catalog of items, it is even easier. Just select the items you want and order. The difference being that you can do it from anywhere at any time and for any destination address. As you place more orders, the app remembers your past items and prompts you. This saves you typing or selection time. There are other powerful capabilities that you can explore in the app.




How do I pick a store and will the store deliver my order?


The app provides a list of stores using the GullyBuy platform in your local area. You mst ensure that you have selected the required delivery address to view the stores around that location. You may select a store from a recent visit or search in the app by store category. GullyBuy sorts the available stores by their rankings and distance from your selected location. It also indicates whether the store does delivery, if it has a catalog that you can pick from, and contact number.




When will I get my orders delivered?


Each store tries to do delivery when possible (assuming they support delivery). Typically, local stores deliver the same day. When you order via the phone, you typically have no further inputs. With the app, you can now also track the progress of the order. The app will inform you when the order is packed and bill is ready, and when it is out for delivery. If you selected Pickup, then you can indicate the approximate time when you will visit the store so that your order is pre-packed and ready to go. Since the app is a direct connection between the buyer and the store, it is up to the store to ensure the best quality of order fulfilment, including on-time delivery.

How do I make payments?


You can pay cash directly to the delivery person sent by the store or pay online using any UPI app.




What is the Return, Refund, and Cancellation Policy?


Since GullyBuy provides a direct link between buyers and stores, it is each store’s responsibility to specify their policies and manage any customer requests for returns, refunds and cancellations. As a seller, how can I use GullyBuy to get more business?


Just like you market yourself in your neighbourhood for your physical store, it is important that you publicize that you now provide online shopping service in your local area. Provide the best of service by putting up a catalog of your top selling items, responding to online orders promptly, and generally providing good quality of service. You can also share your catalog on social media which may persuade your customers to order something right away.
